Who was Bilal to Abu Bakr?
Realize that some of us have more privilege than others.
It’s not so much an advantage as it is a responsibility. It’s going to take so much love within this Ummah for us to realize that.

The virtue and knowledge of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbaas

“O Allah, grant him a deep understanding of the faith and teach him the interpretation of the Qur’an.” It was also narrated by al-Bukhaari (75, 143) and Muslim (2477).

The virtue and knowledge of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him)

I have some questions about Ibn Abbas.

  • How did he get so much Information from the prophet when he was only a young boy?
  • How did he learn so much about Tafsir and why is he so widely quoted?
  • How did he know a lot about the Jewish and Christian scriptures?
  • Also my imam said while teaching us the Tafsir about Surah Dukhan that Ibn Abbas said “when a person dies their mushaf and masjid cry over them.”
  • How did he know this? I thought only Prophets (AS) knew the unseen? Also
  • Why are there many narrations claim to be from him but are fabricated? And are the Abbasids his descends?

Please Note (I Highly Respect him but I just have some question about him)

Is this permissible? Pilgrims taking photos in the holy places ?

Taking photos of pilgrims in the place of worship is not permissible for two reasons:

Some people take photos in the holy places, and sometimes a person may raise his hands in supplication for the sake of the picture only.

Is this permissible? Does it detract from Hajj or not?

Taking photos of pilgrims in the place of worship is not permissible for two reasons:

Firstly: they are doing that so that they can keep the pictures for memories, and any photo that is intended to be kept for memories is haraam.

Secondly: that is usually not free from showing off, because people take pictures to show to others that they have done Hajj. Hence, as the questioner mentioned, they raise their hands in supplication when they are not actually offering supplication; rather it is only for the purpose of taking the picture.

Doing good to others, withholding from harming, and having a cheerful face; and al-Qaadee `Iyaad said:
It is :
– to associate with the people in a beautiful manner,
– to have a cheerful face,
– to show love for them,
– to show compassion for them,
– to tolerate the harm they cause,
– to be forbearing with them,
– to have patience upon disagreeable things,
– to abandon having pride or being arrogant towards them; and
– to avoid harshness, anger, and taking them to account.

“When a woman stays in her house, her soul becomes stable, feels peace at heart, and has self-assurance.

On the contrary, when she goes out of her house, she feels uneasy, irritated, and tense and she may be exposed to evil consequences.”
