Sleeping late

لا إله إلا الله

Sleeping late…
Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Safāreeni [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
It is not right to resist sleep a great deal and stay up late often. Resisting and avoiding sleep will lead to other problems such as :
– bad moods,
– muddled thinking, and
– exhaustion that prevents one from understanding and working properly, and
– it can lead to many fatal illnesses.
Creation is based on balance and whoever adheres to moderation has achieved all goodness.
In al-Adāb al-Kubra, one of the wise men said:
Drowsiness takes away reason, but sleep increases it.
Sleep is one of the blessings that Allāh bestows upon His slaves, hence He reminds them of it in His Book.

Make dua for the small things too.

لا إله إلا الله

Make dua for the small things too.
Those tiny little routine tasks we do everyday that we’ll most likely accomplish deserve prayer as well. Truthfully we do nothing through our own strength.
We’re blessed to have the ability to walk.
We’re blessed to be able to see and hear.
A menial task for me might be a mountain for someone else, so shouldn’t I ask for ease and give thanks?
In the dua we make after every meal we say, “You’ve provided for me though I am powerless”.
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told us that our past sins will be forgiven when we humbly admit to this after eating.
We should admit to our powerlessness when we wake up. When we’re getting dressed.
When we begin to walk. That is asking for ease. That is giving thanks. We…

The Angels will say to the believers when death approaches

لا إله إلا الله

Sūrah Fussilat {41:31}

The Angels will say to the believers when death approaches:

– We have been your friends i.e. your close companions in this world, protecting you and helping you by the command of Allāh, and

– We will be with you in the Hereafter, keeping you from feeling lonely in your graves and when the Trumpet is blown;

– We will reassure you on the Day or Resurrection and will take you accross the Sirāt and bring you to the Gardens of delight”.

The āyah continues:

وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنفُسُكُمْ

{Therein you shall have (all) that your souls desire} means, ‘in Paradise you will have all that you wish for and that will delight you’.

وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ

{And therein you shall have (all) for which you ask} means ‘whatever you ask for, it will appear before you as you wish it to be’.

Stay awake

لا إله إلا الله

It is not permissible for a Muslim to stay awake so that he could not offer Al-Fajr Salah (prayer) in congregation or in its due time even for reciting the Qur’an or learning knowledge.

If this is the case, then what one may think of spending the night watching television, playing cards or the like sinful acts that entail the punishment of Allah (Exalted be He).

— Ibn Bāz — [Fatwas of Ibn Baz (10/390) | Alifta]

Good hearing, eyesight, strength and reasoning.

Whoever is mindful of Allah

لا إله إلا الله

Whoever is mindful of Allah when he is young and strong, Allah will take care of him when he is old and has become weak, and will bless him with good hearing, eyesight, strength and reasoning.
One of the scholars who lived beyond the age of a hundred years and enjoyed good strength and reasoning, jumped up in a lively manner one day and was asked about that.
He said: “I kept these physical faculties from sin when I was young and Allah has preserved them for me now that I am old.”
