Anytime we can be taken back
Anytime we can be taken back, how are we doing with our ibadah and deeds?
Indeed, these things we see on youtube and other social networking sites about a high prince or a high status person trying to lay down the grave for a couple of minutes is not new, the sahabah Radiyallahu Anhum used to do this to keep them and help them reflect from their deeds or what they have done and be reminded that this is their laying ground and will be laid in there soon.
Remember when Prophet Yunus Alaihi Salaam was swallowed by the whale, three levels of darkness enveloped him, the darkness of the whale’s stomach, the darkness of the bottom of the sea, and the darkness of the night, yet this darkness does not compare to the darkness that the grave brings.
So turn to the remembrance of Allah Azza Wa Jall, bring the light of the Qur’an within your soul and heart, always remember death is around the corner, do your best to not miss a salah.
Only through the remembrance of Allah Azza Wa Jall was the Prophet Yunus Alaihi Salaam escaped that darkness. So reflect from that.
And it should be remembered that the Sahabah Radiyallahu Anhum used to discuss death, and they reminded each other about it and that the four guided caliphs, Ar Rashidun Caliphate, all gave khutbahabout death and ‘Umar Ibn Al Khattab always emphasized this issue during his reign.
And we pray that we become more conscious about our deeds that whenever we hear a reminder of death from a good friend we do not take it as if they are telling us that because we are such sinful people but because they want us to be with those blessed, those who did good deeds, those who will be amongst the companionship of the Prophet in Jannatul Firdaus. Amin.
